Primary purpose: To collect comprehensive administrative and clinical data to monitor and improve specialized healthcare services in Spain.
Sponsor, manager or home institution: Ministerio de Sanidad.
Type of information: longitudinal. number of patients, type of patient, length of stay, medical procedures, diagnosis, year, sex, hospital location, type of patient discharge, number of beds, place of residence, and age. Available type of information: year; age; sex, place of residence, hospital location, type of patient admission, type of patient discharge, Financing system, Performed service at discharge in hospitalization, Group of hospitals, type of hospital (public or private), Size of the hospital by number of beds, medical procedures.

Available data level: regional level.
Date range: Varies according to the category of care. Hospitalization (1997 onwards), acute care (1997 onwards), ambulatory care (2004 onwards). Information regarding the private sector are available from 2005 onwards.
Cancer areas of interest: C00-D48: All neoplasms.
