Type of database: survey.

Primary purpose: It is an essential tool for the knowledge of citizens' health, which collaborates with health research and planning of policy making.

Sponsor, manager or home institution: Ministerio de Sanidad and Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE).

Type of information: longitudinal. self-perceived health; year; self-reported prevalence of chronic diseases; diagnosis; screening; smoking habit; alcohol consumption; age; sex; region; marital status; education; employment status; comorbidities; periodicity of physician consultation; check-up examinations; medical procedures; length of stay; type of patient; medication use. Date range: 2017, 2011/2012, 2006, 2003, 2001, 1997, 1995, 1993, and 1987. Since 2009, it takes place on a 5-year basis.
