Type of database: research study, genomics.

Primary purpose: To investigate the association between various modifiable factors and the development of significant chronic diseases.

Sponsor, manager or home institution: Uppsala University.

Type of information: longitudinal. age, sex, place of residence, employment status, alcohol consumption, smoking habit, self-perceived health, self-reported prevalence of chronic diseases, diagnosis, medical procedures, periodicity of physician consultation, medication use, quality of life, number of visits. Participants completed a questionnaire about their diet and lifestyle habits. There are recorded health data, including information on multiple health conditions, medication use, aging, and overall as well as cause-specific mortality. Additionally, we maintain a biorepository containing various samples (saliva, blood, urine, adipose tissue, feces), along with corresponding clinical information. Questionnaire variables (SMC): click here to learn more.

Source of information: An invitation to take part in the study was sent to women born between 1914 and 1948 who were residing in either Uppsala County between 1988 and 1990 or Västmanland County between 1987 and 1989. Click here to learn more.

Data level: respondent level.

Number of records: 14,922 participants.

Date range: 1987 onwards.

Cancer areas of interest: C00-D48: All neoplasms.

Data access: not publicly available. Instructions to request data for restricted content: click here to learn more.
