Hysteroscopy
From Beacon
A hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus. During this procedure, a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. This allows doctors to diagnose and sometimes treat conditions such as abnormal bleeding, polyps, fibroids, or adhesions. Hysteroscopy can also be used to investigate the causes of infertility or repeated miscarriages. The procedure is typically done on an outpatient basis and can provide immediate visual assessment, reducing the need for more invasive surgery. It is an essential tool for ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of uterine conditions.
